Elbow Pain
Elbow and forearm pain often comes from repetitive gripping at work or in sport — tennis, golf and rock-climbing are common culprits. Our physiotherapists assess and treat tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and more complex elbow conditions with evidence-based, hands-on care in your own home.
Elbow and forearm pain often affects people who need to grip repetitively for work or sport. Activities such as tennis, golf and rock-climbing place repeated strain on the muscles of the forearm, and this overuse can lead to injury at the elbow. Pain at the outside of the elbow — the lateral epicondyle — is known as lateral epicondylalgia, or tennis elbow. Pain at the inside of the elbow — the medial epicondyle — is known as medial epicondylalgia, or golfer's elbow. Rock climbers can experience both conditions at the same time.
Our physiotherapists are experienced in the evidence-based treatment of both tennis elbow and golfer's elbow. We also treat more complex conditions, including elbow fractures, distal biceps pain and interosseous membrane tears.
Common conditions we treat
While tennis elbow and golfer's elbow are the most common causes of elbow pain, there are several other conditions we regularly assess and treat.
How we assess and treat elbow pain
Getting to the correct diagnosis is the first step to an effective treatment plan — from there, we follow a structured, evidence-based approach to get you back to full function.
Assessment
Your physiotherapist carries out a thorough examination, including a subjective history and physical assessment of the elbow and forearm. This covers pain-free grip strength, range of movement in the elbow and hand, and the strength of the forearm muscles, along with a manual assessment to find areas of tenderness. Together, this information helps determine the correct diagnosis and treatment plan.
Treatment approach
We use the latest evidence-based methods for managing elbow pain. For the two most common conditions — tennis elbow and golfer's elbow — we follow a tried and tested strengthening and stretching program designed to improve the load-bearing tolerance of the tendons causing pain. Your physio may also offer tape or brace options to support your elbow and reduce pain while you recover.
Evenings and weekends, no problem
Appointments fit your schedule, including late evenings or weekends, with evidence-based care from post-graduate qualified physiotherapists and exercise physiologists.

We cover a large part of North Brisbane and Moreton Bay. Call 1300 895 169 and we'll tell you straight away if we can reach you.
How do I make an appointment?
Use the contact form on our website and a team member will call within 24 hours, or call us directly to book a session.

Light, comfortable clothing you can move freely in.
What happens during a consultation?
A comprehensive assessment and treatment during the session, which may include massage, joint mobilisation and exercise prescription, followed by a detailed home exercise program.
When do I pay?
Either before or after your consultation, whichever is easier for you.
Can I use my private health fund card and just pay the gap?
No — private health rebates need to be claimed online after your invoice is paid. We don't have a health-fund terminal for on-the-spot gap payments.
